It exists in two forms, α-type black amorphous powder, which becomes Co(OH)S in air and is dissolved in HCl. β-type: gray powder or silver red octahedral crystal, melting point higher than 1116 ℃, relative density 5.45. Slightly soluble in acid, insoluble in water. Preparation method: Hydrogen sulfide is introduced into the cobalt nitrate aqueous solution under isolated air, and the generated precipitate is slowly heated for 90 hours to 106~500 ℃ for drying to obtain β-type. The metal cobalt powder and sulfur are sealed into a quartz tube under vacuum, and heated at 700 ℃ for 72 hours to obtain α-type. |
